On The Fifth Day Of Christmas My True Love Gave To Me … Dinner!

December 30, 2016CoachVickyLeave a comment

We finally had Christmas Dinner.  It was wonderful!  Richard made a Bone-In Rib Eye smothered in butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme.  I made Scott’s crock pot green beans with garlic and bacon, and sliced sweet potatoes  with a sour cream, blue cheese and jalapeno sauce.  The house stills smells delicious.

So, Christmas has been a little off schedule this year and all of that is just fine and dandy.  It is the memory that fills my heart not the day.

As 2016 ends, I have so many wonderful memories on this cancer journey.  To each of you reading this, please know that your prayers, comments, cards, letters, phone calls, visits, and care have meant more than my words can ever express.

It is so true that cancer sucks.  It is scary and has robbed me of the security I once felt.

Cancer has also given a new perspective and an appreciation of life I did not fully embrace before.

Cancer has also given me Richard’s love at a depth I did not know before.

After a few morning chores, we are off to meet Angie and James at Stem and Stein.  Jess will be there too.  I am looking forward to seeing them.

Happy New Year everyone. Whatever journey you take in 2017, embrace it to the fullest.
